Kenneth W. “Bub” Tracy Jr., 68, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois following a massive stroke on Tuesday. Born in Robinson, Illinois on July 3, 1944, he was the son of Kenneth W. Tracy Sr. and Eldiva M. “El” (Randolph) Tracy. He was known to many as Bub. He honored his Country with his service in the United States Army where he proudly served in Vietnam from 1968 – 1970 and our County as a Deputy Sheriff for Crawford County, Illinois. Ken worked for 34 years for Marathon Petroleum Company and retired as a Chief Operator on Complex 2. He also ran the Shell Station with his father for many years in Oblong, Illinois. He was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1962, Oblong American Legion Post #219 and Robinson V. F. W. He had many talents and interests during his life and supported many charities.
Ken is survived by his loving partner and best friend Pam Edwards; his only son and daughter-in-law, Kory W. & Nikki Tracy; his mother, Eldiva “El” Tracy; family members, Doug & Lori Edwards, Crystal & Seth Armes and Janessa & Matt McCracken; Lois Beard, the almost mother-in-law, who thought the world of Bub; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Kelley & Susie Tracy, Kevin & Cindy Tracy and Kerry & Geneann Tracy, eight grandchildren, Haley, Wesley, Ashlyn, Briston, Kearston, Brody, Blane and Owen; one great-grandson, Case; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his father; a brother, John Robert Tracy; a sister, Patricia Ann Tracy; and a nephew, Kasey Wayne Tracy.
Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
